ISIS ISIS is a very well known terrorist group located in the Middle East. They are a jihadist group that has oil revenues, and army and organization. They control large sections or parts of Syria and Iraq. They aspire to be a recognized independent nation. They do whatever it take to be a uniform statehood.

Background |
They are led by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. He has a few people about him, called the Leadership Council. They are in charge of giving Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi up to date information. Under al-Baghdadi there 2 people, called deputies, and one is responsible or Syria and the other for Iraq. Under the deputies there are Local Leaders, and there are about 12 of them across Iraq and Syria. Their responsibility is to report to their deputy, which is either Iraq or Syria. The Cabinet or the Managers overlook the departments like finance, security, media, prisoners and recruitment.
As a group they make about 1 million dollars to 2 million dollars each day. Recently, they took over the largest oil field in their country, which is in Omar. They would produce about 30,000 barrels of oil every day. That was the main source of their income, but since then the amount of oil produced has decreased to about 10,000 barrels each day (one third of the principle). Their income is estimated to be about 1.2 million dollars in the underground market. During Muslim prayer the only markets, bakeries and gas stations that are open are owned by ISIS. They have about 20,000-31,500 fighters in Iraq and Syria and about 15,000 of the Jihadists are foreign recruits. ISIS has stolen a significant amount (hundreds of millions of dollars’) of weaponry from the Iraqi and Syrian military. A private firm called, Conflict Armament Research investigates arms trafficking. They have tracked small arms and rockets used by ISIS that seem to have been giving to them by other combatants. Their weaponry sources look to be Saudi Arabia and the United States. Iraq and Syria live in constant fear of what ISIS will do next, either to their people or to their land. |
Effect |
ISIS has effected many different countries and people. They haven't just effected countries around them int he middle east, but also countries world wide. They have bombed places like California, Belgium, Paris, Iraq and many more places. Recently they have claimed an attack on a Coffee Shop in Iraq, killing 20 people, and an attack on the Real Madrid Club, in Iraq. I do not think that this is the right way to get their point across.
I mean, people now know about them and what they want to do, but the negative connotations that go with the word "ISIS" is astonishing. If ISIS wanted more people to join them or know about them then they should to it in a kind and respectful way, so more people will think of them as a good thing. ISIS reminds me of the Nazis during the holocaust. They are killing innocent people because they do not think that they are innocent. |
